Classic French Toast with a Strawberry Cheesecake Protein Glaze

Ingredients
  

  • 8 slices of thick cut bread
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk of choice
  • 1/2-1 tsp vanilla
  • Sprinkle of cinnamon optional
  • 1/4 cup Vanilla Protein Powder optional
  • Cooking spray
  • Toppings – berries syrup, powdered sugar, etc.
  • Strawberry Cheesecake Glaze
  • 1/2 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 – 1/2 cup strawberries I used forzen
  • 2 T – 1/4 cup milk depending on your blender

Method
 

  1. Crack an egg into a shallow bowl or pie tin (this is to make sure. you can let the bread soak). Stir with a fork to combine yolk and white. Add milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and protein powder if desired. Stir.
    Heat a saute or frying pan on the stovetop until it is warmed.
    Next, lay a piece of bread on one side to soak up the egg/milk mixture for 1-2 minutes. Flip it over and let it soak.
    Place the slices of bread into the warmed pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side or until they turn golden brown.
    Strawberry Cheesecake Glaze
    Put all the ingredients into a blender and blend. Drizzle over cooked French toast.
    Serve with powdered sugar, syrup, strawberries, blueberries, etc.
