How to make crispy homemade french fries that are better than fast food every time!
Homemade french fries are easy to make and are a great side dish for any meal. How do you make them crispy and better than fast food ones?
Well, first you cut them and then, the secret, is to soak them in cold water for a little while (can be a few minutes up to a day) and the extra starch from the potatoes will wash off. Then the potatoes will get nice and crispy every time no matter if you are frying, air frying, or baking them.
Our household doesn’t love how frying oil smells (although it is super yummy) so we bake our frendh fries in the oven. This prevents the smell and makes them healthier then if you fry them.
Start with the seasoning amounts below and then add more as you like. You can also try different seasoning blends on them if you are looking for a different flavor for the meal you are serving.
