Smash Burgers

Using quality ingredients and whole grain buns can make this a family favorite everyone can get behind!

You can use this recipe both inside using a frying pan or griddle or take it outside to a Blackstone. Whichever you have you can make some pretty amazing food!

Smash Burger

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound lean ground turkey or lean ground beef at least 90% lean
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Whole grain buns
  • Sauce Ingredients: 1/4 cup Greek yogurt, 1/4 cup mayo small handful cilantro, 1/4 tsp garlic powder, salt, pepper, 1-2 tsp lime juice
  • Toppings: tomato slices red onion, lettuce, avocado, pickles, etc.

Method
 

  1. Heat a griddle or skillet to medium high heat.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mix the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper together. Divide the meat mixutre into equal portions and form them into balls.
  3. Next, put each ball of meat onto the heated pan or griddle. Take a spatula or other flat tool and smash the meat into a very thin patty.
  4. Cook for 2-3 minutes and then flip, cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. While the meat is cooking, mix the Greek yogurt, garlic powder, onion powder, lime juice, and salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Place the buns in the oven to toast or place on the griddle to toast the surface.
  7. When the burgers are cooked place on bun and put the toppings on that you would like!
