Hummus is such a good dip and it is a very healthy one too!
Chickpeas or garbanzo beans are what you want to look for when you are at the store. I am not sue why, but some brands label them differently, but they are the same things!
Premade hummus can cost $3 to $5 for a small portion. If you buy a can of beans and the other ingredients you probably have on hand you can make your own delicious batch for about $1.25! That is a huge saving in my book, especially when one of my kids eats this by the spoonful and dips everything in it!

Method
- Drain chickpeas and put peas in a blender. Add the rest of the ingredients and blend. If the blender doesn’t work well add more water. Blend until smooth.
- Taste the hummus and see what you think! Add more seasonings until you like it. I usually start with a little salt and adjust the rest from there.
