Jalapeno Cheddar Grilled Burgers

A little spice and a little cheese go a long way with these Jalapeno Cheddar Grilled Burgers!

Take your grilling up a notch with this recipe. It is creamy from the cream cheese and tastes very much like a jalapeno popper, who doesn’t love those?! If you like spice add a few more jalapenos if not reduce them by a little bit and also make sure to remove the seeds. The seeds are where a lot of the heat is held so keeping those out will help bring the fresh flavor without burning your mouth.

To meal prep these burgers for future use, follow the recipe and make them into patties. Then put a piece of parchment paper between them and place them into a freezer-safe container. I prefer glass containers over plastic baggies, especially when using ground beef because it prevents flavor transfers. Then put the container into the freezer and you have a perfect stack of flavorful burgers ready when you need them!

Enjoy this yummy grilling recipe any day of the week this summer!

Jalapeno Cheddar Grilled Burger

Servings: 4 servings
Course: Main Course

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef lean
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • 2 jalapeño peppers seeded and finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Burger buns
  • Optional toppings: lettuce tomato slices, red onion slices, avocado slices, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard

Method

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, shredded cheddar cheese, cream cheese, chopped jalapeño peppers, minced garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Use your hands to mix until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  3. Divide the beef mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a burger patty, making sure to press the center slightly thinner than the edges to prevent bulging during cooking.
  4. Place the burger patties on the preheated grill and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches your desired level of doneness (160°F/71°C for medium).
  5. While the burgers are cooking, toast the burger buns on the grill until lightly golden brown.
  6. Once the burgers are cooked to your liking, remove them from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.
  7. Assemble your burgers by placing each patty on a toasted bun and adding your favorite toppings such as lettuce, tomato slices, red onion slices, avocado slices, mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard.
  8. Serve the jalapeño cheddar cheese beef burgers immediately and enjoy!
