This is a dish from my husband’s childhood and one of the only ways he would eat peppers and onions for a very long time.
If you have a picky eater or someone who doesn’t love vegetables try this recipe and see if they like it!

- Add rice, water, and a dash of salt to a saucepan. Bring the water to a boil then turn it down to a simmer and cover the pan. Steam the rice for 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is soft.
- Heat sesame oil in a saute pan or wok.
- Crush garlic and put in oil, cook for 30 seconds.
- Add steak strips to the pan.
- Sear and brown the edges. Salt and pepper to taste.
- Add peppers and onions, saute for a few minutes.
- Add the broth and let simmer for 15 minutes.
- While that is cooking mix the cornstarch and water together in a small bowl to make a slurry.
- Add this to the broth. Keep cooking until the liquids thicken.
- Serve over rice.
