- 1½ cups AE Dairy's buttermilk
- 1 –1.5 lbs chicken thighs or breasts
- ½ cup caramelized onions
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes adjust to taste
Slice 1 onion and cook in a pan with a little oil and a pinch of salt for about 10–12 minutes until soft and golden.Blend or finely chop the caramelized onions so they mix smoothly into the marinade, or put them in whole. In a bowl, whisk together buttermilk, onions, olive oil, honey, and all seasonings.Add chicken and coat well. Cover and refrigerate:Minimum: 4 hoursBest: overnight for maximum flavor
