When meal planning it is important to remember these three things:
1. Plan your meals in advance: Take some time each week to plan out your meals for the upcoming days. Consider your schedule, dietary preferences, and any ingredients you already have on hand. This will help you avoid last-minute decisions and reduce food waste.
Find a tool that will help you do this. There are many journals, planners, or services to use to help you plan out your meals and your time. If you are looking for inspiration check out our shop! If you want a physical journal we have those availabe in the Amazon Storefront too!
2. Create a balanced menu: Aim for a variety of nutrients by including a mix of proteins, whole grains, fruits, and vegetables in your meals. This will ensure that you’re getting a well-rounded meal and meeting your nutritional needs
Make sure to include foods you are able to eat and like. Trying to force yourself to eat things you don’t enjoy will make you seek out other options. Try different cooking methods for the different foods too!

3. Make a grocery list: Once you have your meals planned, make a detailed grocery list of all the ingredients you’ll need. Go to your pantries, fridges, and freezer and cross off what you don’t need. Stick to the list while shopping to avoid impulse purchases and stay focused on your meal plan.
Without these three things, it is very easy to go astray from your health and budget goals. Stick to these and you will save money, and time, and reduce the food waste in your household!
As always, if you need help with these things check out our meal plan subscription or one-time meal plan packages!
