What Is a Chicken Wrap?
Chicken wraps are another of my favorite meals. They work so well to make a quick simple meal that is healthy too!
Add as many vegetables as you would like, or that fit in your tortilla. I am notorious for overfilling my tortilla and it breaking, but it is all good because it still tastes the same in my opinion.
I love using Ranch dressing with chicken but you can use whatever fits your lifestyle the best. If you are looking for a high-protein ranch check out my Cottage Cheese Ranch recipe. It is delicious on everything!
This is a super easy meal prep as you can make the chicken breast ahead of time put it in the fridge or freezer and make them as you need them in the mornings for your lunches. You can also make an individual wrap for each person in the family if you are doing this for an easy 30 minute or less dinner. Let each person put on the veggies they want and everyone is happy!
Why You’ll Love This Chicken Wrap
High-protein meals keep you feeling full all afternoon/evening. This chicken wrap is one of these meals. By making sure you put 4 ounces of chicken in each wrap you will have between 30 and 35 grams in one meal!
Because you can shove as many veggies in as you can, these wraps also bring some fiber to your diet. Fiber is really important (same as protein) to helping you keep your body operating at its best. Check out this article from the Mayo Clinic about the benefits of fiber. And maybe you will want to work a little bit more into your diet too!
Using leftovers is a must around here, I hate wasting food and throwing away what used to be money. This is a great way to use up leftover chicken no matter what style you have. Roasted, baked, air fried, it doesn’t matter it will work in this recipe.
If you are looking for a dinner idea your whole family can get behind it is chicken wraps. Each family member can pick what they want in their tortilla so even picky eaters will be able to enjoy this one!
Chicken wraps are the perfect meal for grab-and-go. You can prep several of these and keep them in the fridge so you only have to cook once!
Tips for the Best Chicken Wraps
When you are assembling these you can heat the tortilla up a little bit. This will actually help with the tearing issue I usually have from over stuffing the veggies. It will also give the tortilla the most amazing flavor.
You can cut the chicken however you want (I sliced it in this picture) but cutting it really small is a great way to get an even bite throughout the whole wrap and will also make it easier to roll up and eat.
Cucumbers, carrots, or even pickles will add a little crunch to this chicken wrap. Texture always makes a meal more satisfying.
Also, if you are wanting more protein and less other things, add that Cottage Cheese Ranch instead of regular. Or try a scoop of Greek yogurt.
Meal Prep and Storage Tips for Chicken Wraps
If you are going to store food for any period of time it is usually best to keep the sauces off to the side. Although, many restaurants, delis, and gas stations just put it in there. It is totally up to you and what texture you prefer.
You can also store all the ingredients and parts of the wraps separately and then build a fresh one every day. This will also maximize the texture of everything but will take a bit more time each day.
Using an air tight container will always help keep your meal prepped meals fresh and tasty. And these will last 3-4 days in the fridge.
