What are Cold Brew Coffee and Cream Overnight Oats?

Overnight oats are a favorite around here because they are such an easy no mess, no fuss breakfast. And when you can add a little coffee flavor to them they are even better! Cold Brew Coffee Overnight Oats do just that by working in the delicious flavor of AE Dairy’s (thank you for the yogurt!) Cold Brew Coffee and Cream yogurt.

Busy moms like us need to find ways to work in our fiber and our protein (and also cold brew coffee) in an easy way. Overnight oats are the perfect answer because you can literally make 4 breakfasts in about 5 minutes. I always get questions on why I only prep 4 at a time and the main reason is that I don’t like to eat things over and over, even though I love meal prepping. Another reason is that the guidelines for leftovers if only 4 days sooooooooo I also don’t want to accidentally get sick so I just reprep in the middle of the week. And you know what? Meal prepping for yourself/your family means you get to do what works for you! So, friend, meal prep in the way that works for you.

Cold Brew Coffee and Cream Overnight Oats are very budget friendly. Oatmeal is cost effective at the store and you can buy it in bulk as it is pretty easy to store. The yogurt is also very cost effective and with the flavor of this yogurt you don’t have to add many more add ins or really any if you don’t want to saving you some extra money throughout the week.

Why You’ll Love Cold Brew Coffee and Cream Overnight Oats

First reason, they are so easy to prep. You literally just put things in a bowl stir and let it sit. They are no heat, no mess, no fuss. You don’t even have to warm them up in the morning, just pull them out of the fridge and enjoy the amazing coffee flavor.

Second reason, they are so energizing. The flavor of the cold brew comes out in such a way that you are going to feel like you are eating your coffee today and not having to add any extra sugar, unless of course you want to.

Third reason, thanks to AE Dairy’s High Protein Milk and their Cold Brew Coffee and Cream yogurt these bowls have good amount of protein in them to keep you going all day from the amazing yogurt but they also have a great amount of fiber. They are creamy from the yogurt and have a nice texture from the oatmeal soaking up the milk.

Fourth reason, they are totally up to you for what you want to add to your toppings. This gives them a satisfying crunch when you go to eat them. Things you could use are granola, slivered almonds, coffee beans, instant coffee powder for a design, chocolate chips, maple syrup, literally anything you want! And it makes it like a fun coffee drink from your favorite store and its probably a little healthier for you. Check out AE Dairy’s other flavors of whole milk yogurt you can add to your oats or do a half and half with the Sweet Cream and this Cold Brew Coffee one to really make a delicious combination.

Fifth reason, the last reason I will post here but I could come up with more, they are make ahead meals. You can make as many as you want for the week or for your family and let them chill in the fridge for up to 4 days. You can batch mix them too if you want. This means you can take the recipe below and multiply it by how many you want to make and store it in one big bowl in the fridge. Then you can portion it out as you need them throughout the week. I like the little containers because I prefer more of a grab and go, and also I have room for them.

Tips for the Best Cold Brew Coffee and Cream Overnight Oats

Making overnight oats is totally up to you for the ingredients you use, but I have found that the rolled oats or old-fashioned oats work better than the instant oats. They hold up to the liquids being soaked in a little better so they have a better texture. However, you get to make your own meals and you can try both, because they both work!

If you want to add a little extra yogurt it will provide even more creamy texture and cold brew coffee flavor to the end breakfast dish. It will also add more protein and other nutrients found in the yogurt which is a huge win!

I have mentioned toppings a few times to add variety and texture, but I wouldn’t add these until you want to eat the oats. Sometimes they get a little soggy otherwise because they will also soak up the liquids. You can meal prep the toppings though too and have them chopped up or in a little container next to the oats in the fridge so it is a grab and go breakfast.

Meal Prep and Storage for Cold Brew Coffee and Cream Overnight Oats

Make sure to keep your Cold Brew Coffee and Cream Overnight Oats in the fridge for storage. Because of the dairy these need to be stored in the fridge until you are ready to eat them. They are best when you make them at least a night before you plan on eating them, making them a meal prepping dream.

I prefer to eat these cold but, you can definitely warm them up if you want to! Try them both ways to see what you like best.

Lastly, as mentioned above in the tips section keep your toppings separate from your Cold Brew Coffee and Cream Overnight Oats to keep their texture top tier.
