What is Lemonade Fruit Dip?
Lemonade fruit dip is a creamy, sweet, and slightly tangy dessert dip inspired by the classic lemonade flavors, perfect for the summer!
This version is a little lighter and healthier than your typical summer fruit dip. Why? Because it uses whipped cottage cheese (I used AE Dairy’s cottage cheese for extra creaminess, and the right amount of salt), along with the lower-calorie Neufchâtel cheese instead of cream cheese.
Using AE Dairy’s No Added Sugar Lemonade reduced the overall sugar content of the recipe while giving it the tangy lemonade pop you are going to love and make you want to have this dip at all the summer BBQs, picnics, and the 4th of July gatherings you go to this summer.
It is refreshing while providing a bit of protein, and it is going to make you want to eat all the fruit in the house!
Why You’ll Love This Lemonade Fruit Dip Recipe
This tastes like a delicious lemon dessert instead of a “health food trying to taste good” thanks to AE Dairy’s No Added Sugar Lemonade! It helps to keep this recipe a lower sugar option while still tasting amazing. The lemonade flavor pops right out and makes you want to come back to this dip over and over again.
Using the whipped cottage cheese (also from AE I love their Sea Salt cottage cheese, it whips so easily!) adds a touch of protein to the dip and keeps it lower calories without it feeling overly healthy or protein-filled. It gives the dip the perfect texture!
Quick side dishes are needed in the summer and this is one of them. You can make this Lemonade Fruit Dip in 5 minutes or less! You just need a few ingredients and a few minutes to make the side dish of the summer.
Perfect for parties, meal prep, or a healthy after-school snack, you can know that the Lemonade Fruit dip is going to be asked for time and time again!
How to Make Lemonade Fruit Dip
First, you need to blend your cottage cheese until it is completely smooth. I used my smoothie cup to do this and put my blender on smoothie setting. If your blender isn’t working because your cottage cheese doesn’t have enough liquid, put a splash of milk or lemonade in.
Soften your Neufchâtel cheese before trying to whip it. This will keep it from getting chunky when you mix it. Then I used my hand-held mixer, but you can just add this to your blender to make a super smooth.
Next, mix all of the ingredients together and stir. Once again, you can just add all of them to your blender or hand-stir.
Taste it and add some extra sweetness or tartness depending on what you prefer.
- If you prefer extra sweetness:
- Add more sugar
- Fold in some Cool Whip
- If you prefer extra tartness:
- Add more lemonade
- Add more lemon zest
This is an important step – you need to let this dip set for 30-60 minutes in the fridge. The cheeses may be very liquidy when you first get done with this in the blender. When you let it sit, it will thicken again, making it more like a dip.
The flavors will also really develop as you let this sit. If you are able, let this sit in the fridge overnight, and the flavors will be transformed!
Tips for the BEST Lemonade Fruit Dip

Adding extra lemonade or lemon zest will really pop the flavor. Add as much as you like after tasting the original amount.
Using AE No Added Sugar Lemonade might be exactly what you need to make your cottage cheese in your blender smoother. It will also add more lemonade flavor, which is going to be amazing! Depending on your blender, you may want to add 2-3 T to get it to work correctly.
Powdered sugar instead of regular sugar will add the sweetness you are looking for without making it gritty. It will keep the dip really nice and smooth, and from separating.
Chilling this dip before serving really helped it thicken up and become more flavorful. The cheese flavors blended with the lemon perfectly to make this a sweet yet tangy dip. And the thickness stuck to the fruit perfectly.
You can also add 1/4-1/2 cup whipped topping, like Cool Whip, to make this feel even more dessert-like.
Meal Prep and Storage Tips for Lemonade Fruit Dip
Make sure to store this in an air-tight container. This keeps fridge flavors and smells from transferring to it and makes sure the lemonade flavor stays bright and fresh. It is also best within 4 days.
If your Lemonade Fruit Dip starts to separate slightly, just give it a little stir, and it should be right back to the perfect texture.
Meal prep this into little containers with a side of fruit, or use it to make a yummy fruit salad for an easy high-protein snack.
