Cheddar Bacon Ranch Burger – Easy Crave-Worthy Burgers

What is a Cheddar Bacon Ranch Burger?

If you have cheddar, bacon, ranch burgers you have a midwest girl’s heart.

If you haven’t figured it out yet, I love ranch-flavored anything. Check out my other recipes and you will see how obsessed I am! It is just such a great combinations of flavors, and possibly because I am from the Midwest that I am so in love with it, anyway, these burgers include the ranch so that’s the back story.

The Cheddar Bacon Ranch Burger will incorporate that delicious ranchy flavor but without all the added fat and calories you get when you use typical ranch (although I love that too, maybe spread a little on the bun for some extra flavor pop or is that too much?), by just using a dry ranch seasoning packet in with the meat and then you stir it up.

Why You’ll Love This Burger

This burger will be so juicy and so packed with flavor you will be beside yourself and want to grill everynight. You will be the talk of the neighborhood too when you have your friends over.

The melty cheese and the bacon are a diabolical salty and savory flavor combination. A Cheddar Bacon Ranch Burger is just bursting with flavor, and it compelmients all the other flavors form burger toppings.

Ranch lovers (like me) will be so happy when you serve them this delicious burger. If you haven’t ever tried ranch this dry ranch seasoning is my favorite. You can also make your own mix if you want to.

Tips for the Perfect Cheddar Bacon Ranch Burger

To get a perfect burger, make sure to not over mix the ground beef when you are adding in the spices and other ingredients. This causes it to get a little tougher when cooked. Keep the meat loose to make the best burger patties and burgers you have ever had.

Press the burgers thinner then you think you need to. This makes them cooke evenly and they will for sure fit the bun. If you really want to make a thick burger, make sure to press your thumb into the middle of the patty so that it is thinner then the edges. This makes it cook more evenly as well.

Cook bacon ahead of time or use bacon bits to incoporate into these cheddar bacon ranch burger patties. Cooking the bacon before will make assembly easier. Using bacon bits will make it even easier. You can mix the bits into the burger mixture too if you want!

If the grill isn’t an option for you then a cast iron skillet is the next best thing (or maybe the best thing). Make sure to heat it well before putting the burger in so you can get a really good sizzle and sear on the outside. This seals juices in and makes your overall burger experience perfect.

Lastly for now, toast those buns. This adds texture and flavor to them. You can use butter, mayo, or just put it in the broiler to add a little extra crunch and the perfect litle flavor touch to the overall burger.

Meal Prep and Storage Tips For Cheddar Bacon Ranch Burgers

If you are meal prepping, you can use the Cheddar Bacon Ranch Burger recipe and keep them raw in the fridge for up to three days.

If you cook all of these burgers at once then they are best reheated slowly at a lower temperature to prevent them from drying out.

To get the best texture when you are meal prepping keep the individual ingredients seperate. This will help them keep their integrity and texture.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 8 slices of crispy bacon
  • 1 packet 1 oz ranch seasoning mix
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lettuce leaves tomato slices, and additional toppings as desired

Method

  1. Preheat your grill or stovetop griddle to medium-high heat.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ranch seasoning mix, chopped green onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Gently mix until the seasoning and ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the meat, do not overwork it.
  3. Divide the seasoned beef mixture into four equal portions, then shape each portion into a patty, slightly larger than the hamburger buns.
  4. Grill the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty and allow it to melt.
  5. While the burgers are cooking, toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until they are lightly golden brown.
  6. Once the burgers are cooked through and the cheese is melted, remove them from the grill and assemble the burgers. Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each toasted bun.
  7. Place a burger patty with melted cheddar cheese on top of the lettuce leaf, followed by two slices of crispy bacon.
  8. Finish assembling the burgers by adding any additional toppings you like, such as tomato slices or more lettuce.
  9. Place the top half of the hamburger buns on each burger.
